Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History
The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History is one of the largest university-based natural history museums in the world, housed on the University of Oklahoma campus and home to more than ten million objects spanning geology, paleontology, ethnology, and natural history. The centerpiece is a 110-foot Apatosaurus skeleton — one of the longest dinosaur mounts on display anywhere — and the Hall of Ancient Oklahoma takes visitors through 500 million years of the state's natural record. The museum draws school groups, family reunions, and academic tour groups year-round.
Charter buses and minibuses drop off along Chautauqua Avenue on the museum's south side; confirm current bus parking with the museum before your visit. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, 1pm to 5pm.
